O Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree

We had a great day today! We started out the day with a 'make up' violin lesson for Evan. I sat in on it and continue to be amazed by his teacher. She honestly must have been made to teach kids violin... she is so great at it. She is also a professional violinist and very accomplished (she used to travel the world to perform). I think she convinced him to enter himself in the school's talent show in a few weeks - we'll see what happens with that.

We then drove about 45 min from here to a beautiful area and found a Christmas tree farm we had heard about. I thought (based on loose translataion of their German website) that their tree selling etc... began today. Cut down your tree, get some hot cocoa and schnapps after etc... but it begins next week. No problem though because after Evan rescueing us to speak German with the workers - we got a saw and headed out to cut our tree down. Who needs hot drinks after?! We found an incredible tree and had so much fun.

Let me back track... Eric said he found a 2nd hand store on Friday from a Austrian collegue of his to look for a used Tux. Back track again... there is a "Ball" Season here... like real balls - formal huge dance things. Anyway... it is cheaper to buy a tux then rent a few times so off Eric went to the 2nd hand shop. Believe it or not, he found one -- he says it isn't light blue, but I haven't actually seen it yet. He also scored on a tree stand - don't ask why we didn't bring ours??!!

So... tree stand is too small as Eric thought we would be okay with a small tree. Well, we weren't. So 11 feet later (we have 12 foot ceilings in this room), we have the tree in the too small stand and then roped to the wall. Hee hee

We THEN went downtown to the Museum Quartier area for Curling with our friends The Stott family (from California - moved here in August too) We had so much fun! Our only disappointments were: they didn't have the brushing part! So, actually it is ice sliding! 2nd: we lost to the Stotts :)

Headed home to drop Evan off at a sleepover (SO fun for him, which makes Eric and I very happy too!) and we watched a movie with Julia.

Sweeping the apartment for 4 months was for the BIRDS (did I tell you that already) -- so bought a vaccuum, wanted to include a picture - that is how excited I am! :)
